ROME

Rome is one of the most advanced ancient civilizations. Some of the most important topics are farming, food, war, land, and classes. These are important because they are the major reasons why we have most inventions today. Some are cars. While others are waterways.

Farming was important for the romans. The roman people made creeks that went by or through their fields. The creek made the land fertile, so they could grow more food. Most of the time the romans used animals to help plow and harvest. The farmers were mostly poor.

The romans had many different types of food. Some of the meats are beef, lamb, chicken, and sometimes fish. The fruits were grapes, peaches, figs, and pomegranates. They also had a lot of vegetables. The creek provided most of the food.

Next are the enemies. The two biggest enemies were France and Spain. The romans were at war a lot because their land was huge. Most of the time the enemies  would sneak up on them around the 7 hills. The enemies would hide in the shade of the peninsulas.

Also the land was different from most. The romans had 7 hills around them. The Mediterranean Sea provided good trading. The land had peninsulas. The rivers also provided a water source.

Romans had different classes. The lower class were mostly farmers. Their houses were made of clay and mud bricks. The middle class had all of the everyday jobs. Their houses were made of stone and clay bricks. The upper class were priest, teachers, and pharoahs. Their houses were made of concrete and sometimes gold.    The romans are fun to learn about. Did you know that the invented lots of things we use today? Their farming, land, war, food, and classes have affected our everyday life. Can you imagine what life would be like without the romans?
